Iran Reports Assault on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
