Raducanu reached the third round in three of the four Grand Slams during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments of the year because of a medical condition she has been battling for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover prior to beginning next year's training.

These plans will involve trainer Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks while playing the initial match versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She again required a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the deciding set versus Zhu due to a lower back issue that has affected her on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

She secured 28 victories in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed on the way prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
