Note: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them few options but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
